Artist Statement
I am an oil painter mainly focusing on landscapes of local scenes. I also sometimes do portraits and figurative work. Whatever the subject, my main objective is capturing the effects of light.
Artistic Process
My paintings are made with a complex layering process, using multiple glazes to achieve a glowing transparency. Recently, I've been starting many landscapes on-site, but this only provides a first layer which is later finished in the studio.
