Artist Statement
I am an acrylic painter most recently focusing on fluid art. I use various pouring techniques, each with its own idiosyncrasies within the pouring method and each made to invoke emotions. This variety of method and techniques has enabled me to achieve a great deal of satisfaction with explosions of color and movement and with each work's unique composition.
Artistic Process
Art is my way of expressing my love for color and abstract design. It allows me complete freedom to create. I begin each piece with color and feeling in mind. I layer the paint according to its density and my vision of how I want it to come out.
The materials used are always acrylic paint, a medium of some sort, and a surface either 2 or 3 dimensional. Then, depending on the type of result I am trying to achieve, I may add a cell activator, water, or whatever element that touches me in the moment, using a variety of tools to manipulate the paint. My husband is a woodworker, and sometimes I incorporate into his designs! I even use the skin from my leftover paint to create new objects.
