Artist Statement

It isn't easy to frame and categorize the work one creates. We find the opportunities to access the soul and project it onto a canvas or the floor. We breathe in the art we create and exhale our interpretation. The semantics I seek to master, if there exists such a thing, is the communication of color. Seldom do I think this art is for me, but rather, I think it is we with each stroke. The experiences I was fortunate to feel and perceive. This work is a journey in which those around me accompany me. And I work to interpret the world from within.

Artistic Process

The major steps included in my process are the silence of the environment, the stillness of the mind, and application. I stare at a canvas for a couple of days before approaching with intention. Finally, in the middle of the night, more than often, I apply acrylic paint. The process is complex as I think about it, but it reasonably simple.
