Artist Statement
I am fascinated with the drama in nature and find inspiration in my surroundings. Central New York offers bucolic settings with rolling hills and lakes, farms and villages. I feel inspired to capture the fleeting light and colors in our local landscapes.
Artistic Process
I paint in oil on canvas outside plein air and inside using photos as reference. Often if weather permits, I start a landscape painting outdoors, then finish later in my studio.
